Step 3: Basic Account Settings

Greeting Message

Set a "Greeting message."
This message is delivered automatically when users add or unblock your Official Account. Also, it can include emojis and images.

  1. Log in to the official account and click "Automated messages" in the menu on the left.
    Click "Greeting message."

  2. Create a greeting message in the next screen.
    Enter the desired message and click "Save changes."

    Select a message format. For the details of each icon, see the topic on Messages.

    Enter the message.

    Click "+ Add" to add a speech balloon (up to five speech balloons). * LINE recommends three speech balloons or fewer for each message.

    Click "User's display name" to insert (Nickname) where the user's name will appear in the message.

    Preview to confirm how the message is displayed on the users' devices.

Auto-Response Messages

Set "Auto-response messages."

These messages are delivered automatically when users send messages to your Official Account.

You can set multiple auto-response messages, which are sent randomly.

You can also set messages to be sent at a specified time or period.

  1. Click "Auto-response messages" in the menu on the left.

  2. Click "New message."

  3. Create an auto-response message in the next screen.


    Enter the desired message and click "Save changes." Saved messages can be managed from a list.

    Enter settings for the auto-response message.
    Set the title, status, schedule, and keywords for response.
    Titles are not displayed to the users.

    Enter a message to be delivered.

    Click "+ Add" to add a speech balloon.

Account Settings

  1. Edit account information to be displayed on the LINE app.
    Click "Settings" at the top of the account page.
    Click "Account settings" to jump to the account settings page.

  2. Edit each field.

    Set the message that is displayed beneath the account name.
    * You can change the status message only once an hour.

    Change the profile photo.
    Size: 640 × 640 pixels
    * You can change the profile photo only once an hour.

    Change the cover photo. This also updates your cover photo used in Timeline, Timeline main page, and in-feed ads.
    * The appearance may vary slightly between different environments.
    Recommended size: 1080 x 878 pixels

    Select "Show account in searches" to make your Official Account visible in LINE's search results.
    Do not change this setting until your account is ready to be published. * Do not select "Show account in searches" for test accounts.

    Enter the location information of your business.

    Change the chat bar color.
    * The color selected here also becomes the background color of your chat room.
